This Work Truck Show news is packed with information about the upcoming 2021 Ford F-600 chassis cab, 2022 Ford F-650 & F-750, and the 2022 Ford E-Series van chassis vehicles. The news is centered around the new gas V8.

Ford announces many additions to the commercial versions of the new 7.3-liter “godzilla” gas V8. The new engine is now compatible with gaseous fuels with a natural gas preparation package. This package includes upgraded valve-train that can withstand higher combustion temperatures associated with natural gas or propane fuels.

One of the trucks that can be ordered with a natural gas fuel package is the new F-600. It’s a chassis cab truck that has a higher payload capability than a F-550 truck, but it is the same overall size as a F-550 and cab be configured with 4×4. The F-600 trucks are now available for order. The truck will be available for sale in the summer 2020.

These can be configured as gas-powered 7.3L V8 trucks with air brakes. If you do not need a diesel, or want to save about $9,200 by going with a gas truck — you can still equip it with air brakes or other accessories thanks to a new engine-driven air compressor.

Large diesel-powered semi trucks use engine-driven air compressors to run their air brake (and many other on-board) air systems. This includes air suspension, air-suspended cab, air-suspended seats, air horns, and more. While an engine air compressor is a great commercial tool, imagine if your off-road pickup truck had the same thing. This is a very powerful compressor that can air up your large off-road tires in no time. It can support and air suspension system on any pickup truck, or power air horns.

The latest versions of the new medium-duty trucks from Ford will begin production in January 2021. They will go on sale in 2021 as 2022 models.

2022 Ford E-Series

The E-Series van / cutaway chassis continues with the latest 7.3-liter gas V8 Flex Fuel-capable engine for 2022 model year and beyond. This is a chassis with a significantly higher Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) than a Ford Transit van. These vans are generally used for large shuttle vans, RV/Motorhomes, or ambulance/emergency vehicles.
