A recent report states the starting price for the all-new 2021 Chevy Tahoe LS at $50,250 for the two-wheel-drive model. This Tahoe is an all-new vehicle inside and out, and the starting price is about $1,000 more than the outgoing/current 2020 Tahoe.
The Car & Driver report also states the starting price for the Tahoe LT at $55,095; and the Premier model at $63,895. The 2021 Tahoe will come in six distinct trim levels: LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country. We do not yet know the starting prices for the RST, Z71, and the High Country. We also do not yet know the pricing for specific options or the 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine.
2021 Chevy Tahoe
The new Tahoe is based on the latest GM full-size truck platform, although the Tahoe has an all independent suspension (front & rear). The new Tahoe is much larger and offers more people and cargo room than ever before.
The base engine is a 5.3-liter gas V8 that is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. You can also optionally choose a 6.2-liter gas V8 or a 3.0-liter Duramax diesel I6. All engine options are mated to a 10-speed automatic.
The 2021 Tahoe also gets an all-new interior and a push-button transmission selector on the dash. It’s loaded with the latest infotainment and driver assistance technologies from GM.
The recent GM fleet order guide also lists several Gross Vehicle Weight Ratings (GVWR) for the upcoming 2021 Tahoe, which correlates to slightly retuned suspension. The Tahoe 2WD will have a 7,400 lbs GVWR. The Tahoe 4×4 GVWR will be a littler higher at 7,500 lbs. The diesel-powered 4×4 models will have a GVWR of 7,600 lbs.
Payload & Towing?
We still do not have maximum payload the towing ratings for the new Tahoe and Suburban. Since the Tahoe 4×4 GVWR is 7,500 lbs, and the maximum GVWR for a current 2020 Silverado 1500 is 7,100 lbs – the new Tahoe should have a very competitive payload rating and a big maximum towing number to go along with it.
Colors & Trim
According to the GM fleet order guide website, here are the following interior & exterior color options for the 2021 Chevy Tahoe. It also shows that the Tahoe LS will have a 40/20/40 front split-bench seat. This will allow the Tahoe LS a maximum nine person capability.
