The 2020 Ford Tremor is getting a factory-approved Warn 12,000 lbs winch as option later this year. Ford says they worked closely with Warn to ensure the winch is integrated to meet all Ford standards and requirements.
If you think that the winch may not be fitted to a Power Stroke diesel version of the truck due to an intercooler placement or other cooling requirements – that is not the case. The new winch is available with both the gas and turbo-diesel V8-powered versions of the Super Duty Tremor.
The winch is mounted inside the steel front bumper, and Ford says it meets all cooling requirements for either engine choice. The winch is equipped with high strength synthetic cable and a wireless remote. A wired remote control is an option.
In case you are wondering, the Ram Power Wagon is also using a Warn 12,000 lbs winch. The new 2020 Power Wagon also uses synthetic cable in order to save weight. Once the 2020 Ford Super Duty Tremor winch is available in mid-2020, the Power Wagon will not be the only factory truck with a winch. It’s a title that Ram held for many years.
How much will the Ford winch cost? It’s a $3,000 factory-ordered, or a post-sale dealer-installed option. Yes, it is pricey, but a stand-alone aftermarket Warn ZEON 12 Platinum winch price can cost between $2,100 – $2,500.
