Bigger than ever! The all-new 2021 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban make their official world debut in Detroit. How do you improve on a best-selling full-size SUV? You redesign it from the ground up.
2021 Chevy Tahoe & Suburban
These two big family SUVs use the latest version of the truck chassis originally introduced on the new Chevy Silverado 1500. They are not simply a pickup truck with an SUV body on top. The new Tahoe and Suburban ride on either an Air Ride Adaptive or Magnetic Ride Control fully -independent suspension systems. There is no more solid rear axle!
Power
Diesel Tahoe and diesel Suburban are now a thing. There are three available engine options, and all three are mated to the new 10-speed automatic transmission. All choices are equipped with a 3.23 rear differential ratio.
- 5.3L V8 (DFM): 355 hp & 383 lb-ft of torque
- 6.2L V8 (DFM): 420 hp & 460 lb-ft of torque
- 3.0L I6 Diesel: 277 hp & 460 lb-ft of torque
Indeed, these engines are very familiar and have the identical power output as they do in the Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 pickup trucks.
There is no mention of an electric hybrid or any other type of powertrain.
