You Can Now Buy Your (Unofficial) Ford Ranger Raptor In The U.S., Thanks To This Tuning Company

It's the work of a tuning company conversion

You Can Now Buy A Ford Ranger Raptor In The U.S. (Sort Of)!

As of yet, Ford won’t sell an official Ranger Raptor in the U.S., but this Texas tuning company has a solution for you. Even better, the truck will be on display at the 2019 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. PaxPower, the same company behind the 5.0-liter V8 F-150 Raptor conversion, can make your Ranger look and drive like the real deal. It won’t have the 2.0-liter diesel engine with 210 horsepower that other global markets get, but it will have a more powerful version of the standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost. Here’s the bad news (as if you aren’t already bracing for it) — The conversion isn’t cheap.

For $65,000 (the price does include the truck), you can get your very own Ford Ranger Raptor. PaxPower takes a standard Ranger Lariat FX4 and sets to work beefing everything up. To that end, the engine has 350 horsepower thanks to a performance SCT tune.

From there, PaxPower also used a BajaKits Prerunner long-travel suspension kit. That widens the track by 5 inches by way of longer, more durable upper and lower control arms, and that also improves suspension travel. King 2.5-inch adjustable front coilovers and rear shocks replace the standard setup in the FX4. On the off-road performance front, PaxPower fits Icon 17-inch wheels and Toyo R/T tires.

To make it look more like a Raptor, PaxPower brings in the OEM parts from Ford. That includes the Euro-spec grille, fender flares, bedsides, tailgate, taillights and Raptor decals on the bed. To that, they fit Addictive Desert Designs Stealth Fighter bumpers and an LED bar up front. It’s an expensive transformation, but in the end you’re more or less getting a truck you won’t be able to buy through your Ford dealer anytime soon.

What do you think? Is $65,000 way too much for this sort of conversion? Would you get this, or step up to a factory F-150 Raptor? Let us know what you think in the comments below and stay tuned for more from the 2019 SEMA Show coming soon!
