Here is a look at the upcoming 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer (or Wagoneer) prototype. It’s the upcoming full-size SUV from Jeep that is aimed directly at the Chevy Tahoe, Ford Expedition, and many other large family haulers.

FCA has stated that the Wagoneer and the more luxurious Grand Wagoneer will be built at the same plant as the Ram 1500 pickup truck. Indeed, this very boxy prototype appears to be riding on a proper truck frame. Body on frame construction should allow this latest large SUV to handle lots of people, payload, and towing capability.

It should also haul your family in comfort thanks to an independent rear suspension that’s visible on this prototype.

The rumor has it that the Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer will be powered by the same engine options also found in the new Ram 1500. Namely, the 3.6-liter V6 eTorque, the 5.7-liter V8 with and without eTorque, and possible the new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6.

Although, it’s possible that FCA will put an all-new powertrain into this SUV that may also include a full gas/electric hybrid or a plug-in hybrid.

The 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer are expected to make their debut in the first half of 2020, with sales starting in later 2020 or early 2021 (unofficial).

If you are thinking that this prototype looks a lot like the upcoming 2021 Chevy Tahoe prototype, here is a side by side comparison.

The 2021 Tahoe and Suburban make their official debut on Dec 10th, 2019. Please stay tuned to #TFLtruck for more details.
