GMC recently announced that a 2021 Canyon AT4 truck is coming in early 2020. This is a welcome new to off-road truck fans everywhere, but what equipment will the Canyon AT4 have and what might it look like? I think it should use the Colorado ZR2 bones underneath and have a similar aggressive look.
We (TFLtruck) created a quick rendering of what we want the new AT4 truck to look like. This is definitely not an official GMC image or information.
2021 GMC Canyon AT4
GM already has a very capable off-road truck in the Colorado ZR2. It has a small suspension lift and a wider track. It has high-tech Multimatic DSSV spool valve shocks, front/rear selectable lockers, and aggressive all-terrain tires. Why not use this as a basis for the upcoming Canyon AT4 truck and improve on it further?
I think this makes a lot of sense. The upcoming Canyon AT4 may also get a 360-degree surround view camera system, heads up display, and a styling update. Of course, the level of equipment will depend on how extensive this midsize truck refresh or redesign will be. If it is a mid-cycle refresh as many other sources claim – then the latest tech features may not make their way into the 2021 AT4.
Here is a first sneak peek at the 2021 Canyon AT4 prototype that Roman and Tommy got at a recent GMC event in Wyoming.
