Ram says that 2019 1500 pickups built before October 25, 2018 have a ground-circuit fastener that can come loose, potentially leading to an open circuit and loss of power steering. If this occurs, steering ability will be maintained, but the risk of a collision is increased.
FCA says it doesn’t know of any accidents or injuries related to this recall. Dealers will secure the fastener at no cost to owners to remedy this problem.
The Ram 1500 recall affects 159,470 trucks in the US, 18,682 in Canada, 407 in Mexico and 3,409 overseas.
