2020 Jeep Gladiator
What is the new Gladiator all about? It’s definitely about off-road capability, but these leaked specification suggest that it is also about utility. The leak claims a maximum of 7,650 lbs of towing and 1,600 lbs of payload. This is the best towing rating for a gas-powered midsize truck, but not the best payload.
If this report is correct, the 2020 Gladiator will not be the most powerful or torquiest midsize truck out there. The base 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine will likely produce 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque (just like in the Wrangler JL). Although, it’s good to hear that the Jeep truck will also offer a 6-speed manual transmission. The manual transmission enables that super-low crawl ratio of 84:1 with low range 4×4 and first gear.
