Surprise: Chevy HD and Ram HD Trucks Land on Consumer Reports “Least Reliable Cars” List By Owner Survey

Consumer Reports’ recent owner survey outlined the top 10 “most unreliable cars” on its list, and Ram HD 3500 and Chevy Silverado HD 2500 landed on this list. Take a look at the Consumer Reports list.

Ram HD 3500

Consumer Reports says that owners reported problems with the following: steering/suspension, fuel/emissions system, engine cooling, noises and leaks. The report does not elaborate one the exact nature of the reported problems.

The Ram HD is currently available with two gas V8s (5.7L and 6.4L) and three turbo-diesel straight-six (6.7L) engine options.

Chevy HD 2500 / GMC HD 2500

The noted problem areas include: engine, noises & leaks, and issues with the electronics. Consumer Reports did not elaborate on exactly which engine option was reported to have problems.

The Chevy & GMC HD trucks are currently available with two engine options: 6.0L gas V8 and a 6.6L turbo-diesel V8.
