Bollinger previews the next step of all-electric truck development – the Bollinger B2 pickup truck. Bollinger is a new company (founded in 2014), and it had a coming out party in New York City in July 2017 with a two-door B1 all-wheel-drive sport utility truck.

The concept is relatively simple – design and build a battery-electric vehicle with AWD (or 4×4) off-road capability, heavy payload and cargo-carrying utility, and a simple design that allows owners to tinker with, fix, or modify their trucks.

The B2 pickup truck is the next iteration, and Bollinger says it encompasses all of the development and testing knowledge gained during the B1 research and prototype testing.

The aluminum EV truck is said to have a 0-60 MPH acceleration of 6.5 second thanks to 520 total electric horsepower. The maximum towing capability is listed at 7,500 lbs and maximum payload is 5,001 lbs that makes it a Class 3 “heavy duty” truck with a GVWR of 10,001 lbs.

B2 rides on a longer wheelbase (139 inches), than that of the B1 two-door and 4-door models. The truck offers a bed that is 5’9” long and 4’1” wide. Do you want to carry a 4×8 sheet of plywood or other material? No worries. The B2 feature a “mid-gate” that folds down to allow up to 72 sheets of 4×8 material to be stacked in the back with the rear seats folded.

The B2 is equipped with a 120 kWh battery and a dual motor AWD drive system. Total output is 520 horsepower and 514 lb-ft of torque. The B2 also rides on pneumatic height adjustable suspension.

Bollinger estimates B2 driving range at 200 miles (according with EPA estimation procedures). It’s capable of 10-hour Level 2 or a 75 minutes Level 3 full-charge times.
