Prototype Hunting: 2020 GMC Sierra Spied Testing [Video]

Once again on our travels up and down the steep mountain roads of Colorado, the TFL team has spotted a prototype testing.

It appears to be a GMC heavy duty truck, leading us to believe that this is the 2020 GMC 2500. We’ve already seen a teaser for the next-generation GM Heavy Duty pickups, but thus far no details have been revealed.

We expect the new HDs to adopt the styling from the new redesigned version of the 2019 Sierra half-ton, along with many of the interior appointments. You can checkout our in-depth video on that truck here.

As for powerplants, both the 6.0-liter gasoline V8 and 6.6-liter Duramax diesel are expected to still be offered in GMs HDs, though revision should bring more power to both. A ten-speed automatic transmission has been rumored to be part of GM’s plan for its HDs, so we’ll have to wait and see.

Watch us catch and spook the new 2020 GMC heavy duty pickup while testing in the video above. And checkout the 2019 Sierra half-ton so you know what to expect in its big brother.
