Ram unveils two new luxurious Texas-themed editions for the 2018 truck lineup at the 2017 State Fair of Texas in Dallas. The existing Laramie Longhorn edition gets an additional flavor of Texas with the Southfork edition. The Texas-focused Ram HD Lone Star Silver edition joins the half-ton Ram 1500 of the same trim that made its debut last year.
Ram Laramie Longhorn Southfork
The Southfork edition differentiates itself with Canyon Brown and Light Frost Beige Natura Plus full-grain leather seats. The interior theme is continued with leather-wrapped the A/B-pillar grab handles and the Walnut-trimmed steering wheel. The Light Greystone suede headliner and visors (late availability) round out the premium cabin materials. This usage of high grade leather and suede headliner is very similar to the materials you will also find in the Ram Limited Tungsten edition.
The latest Uconnect 4C infotainment system with the 8.4-inch touch screen is available in these trucks. It includes 4G LTE Wifi, Apple Car Play, and Android Auto.
You will be able to identify the Longhorn Southfork by the large name spelled out across the tailgate in chrome letters. The Southfork edition will be available in all current exterior Longhorn color options, including the two-tone paint.
The Ram 1500 with the Southfork package will start at an MSRP of $51,220 plus $1,395 destination. The HD 2500 version starts at $55,620 plus $1,395.
Ram HD Lone Star Silver
Ram unveiled the Ram 1500 Lone Star Silver edition in Dallas last year. Now, it’s the heavy duty truck’s turn to get the Texas treatment. The package comes with chrome accents, full-length running boards, and 20-inch rims. Perhaps, the most coveted addition are the unique Texas Lone Star badges. These badges drew a lot of attention at last year’s State Fair of Texas to a point that the badges were stolen off of the show truck.
We will bring you all the latest 2017 news from the fairgrounds very soon.
