This old truck mega mashup video series has been long time coming. We gathered three examples of classic trucks between us and MrTruck.com. They are our good old project trucks: 1974 Ford F-250 4×4 Highboy “Rusty Boy”, 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 “Dodgezilla Overkill”, and a 1985 Chevy K10 “Big Green”.
Rusty Boy is Tommy’s personal truck. It has an old and tired 360 cu-in V8 and a 3-speed automatic. The engine has a worn down camshaft, but it’s running on leaded fuel, so it’s a little happier now.
Dodgezilla 4×4 is still powered by a 318 cu-in V8, but it’s Overkill name is backed by a completely rebuilt automatic transmission. Kent “Mr Truck” Sundling and Ruben from Advanced Transmission have gone over the engine, cooling system, drive shafts, and much more.
We have spent a lot of time and resources on our Big Green project Chevy K10. It has an all-new performance crate engine (thanks to Chevy Performance and Ted from AxandAllies.com). It’s a 350 cu-in carbureted ZZ6 V8 that is rated at 405 horsepower. It still has the original 4-speed manual transmission with a “granny” first.
First mashup challenge will be a drag race. Which truck do you think will win? Let us know in the comments below, or tweet us @tfltruck with the following hashtags #rustyboy , #overkill , #biggreen .
Here is a quick promo of the upcoming drag race and off-road video comparisons.
