Ford SEMA Custom Cars and Trucks Up Close [Video]

Ford Motor Co. will show more than two dozen modified cars and trucks at this year’s Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show. The F-150 is Ford’s biggest seller and will show seven custom versions of its 2016 F-150. They include a Roush-modified truck that gets 650 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque out of a 5-liter V8 engine.

An F-150, prepared by Galpin Auto Sports, features a modified Addictive Desert Designs (ADD) XTR body kit and wheels 20 inches wide tucked in the rear fender wells. Painted in Grabber Blue and orange, the color scheme pays tribute to the Gulf Racing heritage from the sixties.

Pony car enthusiasts will be treated to eight modified Mustangs, which focus on achieving maximum horsepower with the smallest possible engines. A majority of Ford’s souped-up ’Stangs use versions of the 2.3-liter Ecoboost engine. The most eye-popping pony car is a four-cylinder Mustang designed by Bisimoto that gets up to 900 horsepower. The white-hot EcoBoost Mustang, developed by Ice Nine Group, replaced the factory forced induction unit with a Garrett GTX3076R turbocharger. Output is now a fiery 475 horsepower and sends power through a heavily tuned powertrain. The exterior was inspired by European DTM racing and the new Shelby GT350R by incorporating design cues from Ford’s track focused car and installing an RTR Spec 5 widebody kit.
