This 2017 Ford SVT Raptor crew cab prototype was recently spied testing at high altitude of Colorado. This test truck is wearing emissions testing equipment, white wide-body front clip, as well as the grille and front bumper that are unique to the Raptor.

The dual exhaust system is poking straight out the back through the bottom of the bumper. If we cannot get a V8 in the next Raptor, then lets hope that Ford can dial in over 450 horsepower from the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. This recent report shows the power figures for the 2017 Ford Raptor in Forza 6. The torque is listed at 440 lb-ft in the game.

Ford was able to get 350 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque from the 2.3-liter EcoBoost in the upcoming Focus RS.

The huge “FORD” badge in the grille works well together with the LED headlights, wide fenders, and the signature Raptor front bumper. The look does a good job communicating the desert racer persona.

However, the long crew cab wheelbase and running boards do not appear to offer a better break-over angle than that of the outgoing Raptor. The exact specifications are not known yet, so the waiting game continues.

This prototype appears production ready, but customers will have to wait nearly another yet to take delivery of the 2017 Raptors.

Get as many 2017 Raptor details as Ford is willing to disclose so far in this “Everything” video.

And here is an early testing mule of the next generation Raptor.
