2017 Ford Raptor: TFL Q&A from New York [Video]

2017 ford raptor tfl truck questions answers with Tony Greco project manager
2017 Ford Raptor

We asked you to submit questions for manufacturers before the 2015 New York Auto Show and you were not shy. Thank you for sending all the questions!

Many of the questions had to do with the upcoming 2017 Ford Raptor. The next generation off-road focused truck will be using a reinforced frame, an upgraded 3.5L EcoBoost V6, a 10-speed automatic transmission, larger diameter shocks, and many more updates. It will use aluminum body construction, which should make it about 500 pounds lighter than the previous version.

You wanted to know why Ford went with the 3.5L turbocharged V6 and not a V8. You wanted to know about the transmission and the truck’s jumping ability. We compiled all the questions and brought them to Ford at the New York Auto Show.

If you are wondering, Ford has not officially announced any additional specification on the power output or anything else since the initial debut at the Detroit Auto Show. We know that the new truck will make more than 411 horsepower, but it’s not clear how far the new EcoBoost will go.
