Which is the fastest pickup truck (0-60 mph) at a mile above sea level? This is the question TFLtruck was most interested in with the 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the 6.2L V8, the new 8-speed automatic transmission, and Max. trailering package. The trailering package adds the 3.42 rear axle gears that should make the truck a bit quicker still.
We perform all acceleration tests in 2WD mode, so we did the same here as well. However, we could not resist to do an AWD launch and you can see it at the end of the video (see below).

Result:
We are comparing this Chevy to the 2015 Ford F-150 SuperCab 2.7L EcoBoost Lariat 4×4, because it is our fastest half-ton pickup truck to date. The F-150 accelerated to 60 mph in 6.99 seconds.
We performed several acceleration and braking runs with the Chevy. The fastest time was 7.46 seconds in 2WD. However, the AWD was significantly faster (see end of video).
Check out the video for all the details. Stay tuned for more videos with this Chevy pickup truck.
