The 2014 Denver Auto Show will be opening its doors to the public today at 5:00pm where attendees will get to see the 2014 Chevy Silverado which has just been chosen as the Rocky Mountain Truck of the Year. The award is given through voting by journalists in the Rocky Mountain Associated Press.
The 2014 Chevy Silverado got a refresh this year with new styling inside and out and a new line-up of fuel efficient EcoTec3 V6 and V8 engines. The base 4.3-liter V6 provides 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque while still managing fuel economy ratings of up to 18 city and 24 highway.
There’s also a 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque and, for those looking for the most power and towing capability, a 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque that can tow up to 12,000 pounds. The larger V8 models get up to 16 city and 23 highway.
All engine variants on the 2014 Chevy Silverado come with a 6-speed automatic transmission, direct injection, cylinder deactivation, and continuously variable valve timing with aluminum blocks and heads. Electric power steering and four-wheel disc brakes are also standard on all models.
