Roy Garber, the star of A&E’s reality series Shipping Wars has died of a heart attack at the age of 49. According to TMZ, who spoke to Garber’s long time girlfriend, Garber died in a Texas hospital after being rushed there. Sources say that he had a preexisting heart condition.
Shipping Wars just completed filming their fifth season this past Wednesday.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of a member of the A&E family,” the network said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with Roy’s loved ones during this difficult time. He will be missed.” – – A&E
Roy Garber was one of the more colorful personalities on the show. His was known for having a inflammatory temperament and had no hesitation telling people exactly what he thought. Despite being volatile, he had a fondness for kittens and has a multitude of fans.
