Texas State Fair: Ford to Make a Super Duty Announcement Next Week

2013 texas state fair ford super duty

We have word that GM will show a redesigned new line of HD trucks next week in Texas.  Ford will not be outdone.  Ford recently tweeted this picture and asked its fans what they think might be coming.

The logo is identical to the current one.  It has the familiar 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo diesel logo and the B20 biodiesel designation.  So we can be sure that Ford will stick to the 6.7-liter V8 power-plant architecture and will retain the 20% biodiesel capability.  However, this is all we know for sure.

We can speculate that the power level of the motor will be bumped up from to current 400 hp and 800 lb-ft to some higher level.  Perhaps the horsepower will stay about the same, but the torque will increase significantly?  Next, we can be sure that maximum tow ratings will climb to another class leading number.  It will have to be over 30,000 lbs.  A visual exterior upgrade is also a good possibility.

There could also be some wild surprise, like a 2015 Ford F-250 Super Duty Raptor?  You know – a Super Duty with Raptor type suspension to glide over rough terrain.  There might also be a “Mega Platinum” or “Ubobtanium” trim level.  Apologies for a bad joke.

Nonetheless, TFLtruck will be at the Texas State Fair to bring you the latest information, video, and images.

In the meantime, take a look at the TFLtruck project F-250 video(s):
