United States automotive market continues to be red hot, and the pickup truck segment continues to lead. Now we have another month of 2013 under our belts and the truck segment is showing no signs of slowing down.
The all new 2014 Silverado and Sierra are gaining sales traction. The redesigned 2014 Tundra just started production. Ram has just introduced the light duty EcoDiesel and 2014 Ram heavy duty. Ford and Nissan are not to be outdone. Ford is preparing the redesigned F-150 and Nissan is doing testing on the next Titan.
All pickups showed huge double digit growth in the month of July, with the exception of the aging Frontier and Titan. The Tundra showed modest growth in July, since the redesigned 2014 model has not reached the dealerships yet.
Chevrolet Silverado showed the best July year-over-year growth at 27.4%. The Sierra delivered a monstrous 49.3% growth over last July. The Ford F-Series is the king of the hill after all these years. It still has more than a third of the whole pickup market and already sold 427,935 units this year.
