The Detroit Auto Show is not usually one to feature many pickup trucks, but 2015 was a pleasant exception. A total of five new trucks were unveiled at the show and this make TFLtruck crew very excited.
The 2016 Toyota Tacoma and 2016 Nissan Titan represent thorough redesigns of their respective pickups. The Tacoma is all-new and features the 3.5L V6 engine and 6-speed transmission for more power and better fuel economy (specs TBD). Nissan Titan comes out full speed with a full range of configurations and models. The 5.0L V8 Cummins turbo-diesel with 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque was the star of the show.
The 2015 Rebel shows off Ram’s interpretation of what a sport off-road light-duty truck should be. It’s got air suspension, 33-inch tires, and a new over-the-top look.
The Hyundai Santa Cruz is concept that explorers the possibility of a sub-midsize pickup truck. A little truck for the urban dwellers, who require extra versatility.
Finally, you have the 2017 Ford Raptor. Ford’s next off-road specialist has a couple controversial components. They are the 3.5L V6 EcoBoost power and a 10-speed automatic transmission. It also has a beefed-up frame, larger Fox shocks, new terrain drive modes, and a full dual exhaust system.
