What better way to test the 2015 GMC Canyon 4WD All-Terrain than in all kinds of terrain? How about playing in the snow and dirt at the IMI Motorsports motocross park? Lets go!

What we have here is the SLE Crew Cab Long Box Canyon, which is the largest Canyon you can configure. It’s got the 3.6L direct-injected V6 with 305 horsepower @ 6,800 rpm and 269 lb-ft of torque @ 4,000 rpm. The 6-speed automatic does the shifting and the whole setup has an EPA estimated 17 MPG city, 24 MPG highway, and 20 MPG combined.

This particular All-Terrain model adds more off-road focused components such as: the Z71 off-road tuned suspension, transfer case protection, and more aggressive all-terrain tires mounted in 17 inch rims. Rear axle has 3.42 ration and it’s equipped with the trailering packages that allows for a maximum 7,000 lbs of towing capacity.

A 2WD version of the Crew Cab Long Box starts at $27,650. This higher-end 4WD version starts at $34,310 and has $3,680 of options for a total as tested price of $38,915. The All-Terrain package sets you back $1,190 and off-road side-steps are $745. If you keep checking off the options, then it’s possible to go above the $40K mark. A Denali version of the Canyon is rumored, but not official.

In the end this Canyon handled the snow and loose dirt with ease, even when trying to climb the steep motocross hill. Check out the video to see for yourself. Oh yea, it can also do good donuts!
