The wait is over. Ford has announced pricing and available features on the 2015 Ford F-150 truck lineup. The online configurator is not yet available, and not all pricing details are here. However, we now know that there will be a premium on the all-new 2015 models, with the luxurious models taking the brunt of the increase.
The base XL model sees a price increase of just $395 or about 1.5% higher than a comparable 2014 model. The starting price is $26,616 (including the $1,195 destination charge). The new XL standard equipment includes: telescoping steering wheel, 2.3-inch display in the gauge cluster, 4.2-inch LCD with MyFord audio, and two additional speakers.
The XLT model sees the same $395 increase over the 2014 model. It comes with all of the XL equipment plus the power tailgate lock and the BoxLink bed configuration system.
The Lariat includes all XLT features and goes up by $895 with many premium items: 8-inch LCD display in gauge cluster, LED cargo-box lights, heated and cooled front seats, rearview camera, and power folding mirrors.
Jimmy Fallon and others who are aiming to buy the 2015 F-150 King Ranch will have to pay additional $3,615. King Ranch includes all Lariat features and is packed full of high-tech goodies: LED headlights and taillights, LED mirror spotlights, power remote tailgate, two 400-watt power outlets, blind-spot warning with cross-traffic alert, push-button start, a heated steering wheel, and heated rear seats.
The Platinum grade goes up by $3,055. It adds inflatable rear seatbelt airbags and massaging front seats. There is no word yet on availability or pricing on the STX, FX2, FX4, or the current range-topper – the Limited.
The two EcoBoost motors also have price premiums. The all-new 2.7L EcoBoost V6 will cost a reasonable $495 over the base 3.5L normally aspirated V6. The updated 3.5L EcoBoost will cost an additional $1,995 over the base engine. This makes the 3.5L EcoBoost $100 more affordable than in the current 2014 F-150. There is no information yet on the pricing for the 5.0L V8.
