Chevrolet publishes some specifications for the upcoming 3WT and 4WT trim levels of the upcoming 2024 Chevy Silverado EV Work Truck model. GMAuthority reports pricing for these optioned work truck models, but this is still unconfirmed by Chevrolet. Here are all the details we know so far.
2024 Chevy Silverado EV WT
GM’s public Fleet Order Guide website released new information about the upcoming 2024 model of the all-electric Silverado pickup truck. This information is focused on the 3WT and 4WT optional packages. These trucks are labeled as “Fleet Trucks” in the Order Guide. These models will be equipped with black vinyl seats (front bucket seats). The exterior color will be white at launch and the black exterior color will be available a little later.
These trucks will be equipped with a dual-motor e4WD system. The battery system is listed as the 800-volt Ultium battery system. However, the 3WT and 4WT models are listed with different battery internal codes (so the battery internals and/or capacities may vary between the different models).
These trucks will be capable of the following charge rates:
- level 1: 1.4 kW at 120 volts
- level 2: 7.7 kW at 240 volts (capable of up to 19.2 kW)
- level 3: up to 300 kW at 800 volts via DC (direct current) fast charging
These are very competitive charge rates and equipment. Chevrolet did initially promise up to 350 kW of DC fast charging capability on the upper-level Silverado EV RST models.
These work truck models will be equipped with a hitch, trailer brake controller, trailer information label (this may include: GVWR, max payload, and max towing capacities for each specific truck), and a tow/haul mode. These trucks will come standard with full-length black side steps. However, a spray-in bed liner will be optional.
18-inch aluminum wheels will be wrapped in LT265/70R18 all-season tires. The trucks will be equipped with a smaller LT225/65R18 spare tire.
On the inside, the WT models will be equipped with an 11-inch diagonal center infotainment screen with Google Built-in. An additional 8-inch diagonal gauge information display is also there. Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto capability is included as well as a 360-degree camera system with a provision for a trailer camera. A 6-speaker audio system and 7.2 kW of offboard power delivery are built in. You can check out the GM Fleet Order Guide for more information.
Finally, GMAuthority reports the starting price for the 2024 Silverado EV 3WT at $72,905 (including the $1,895 destination charge). The 4WT model will have a reported starting price of $77,905. We are reaching out to Chevrolet for confirmation on this.
Which truck will the 2024 Silverado EV 3WT compete against? It’s difficult to say based on the information we have currently available. The basic 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Pro with a smaller battery starts at $51,974. The higher trim level Lightning XLT with a larger battery pack starts at $80,974.
Here is a complete walk-around of a fully-optioned 2024 Silverado EV RST that has a large battery pack and 400 miles of total estimated driving range.
