Check out the latest episode of the TFL Talkin’ Trucks podcast as we take a personal look at the craziest new trucks and trends at the 2026 Work Truck Show in Indianapolis. Let’s dig in!

One of the major vehicle reveals from the show was the new 2027 Ram ProMaster City cargo and passenger midsize van. This van is big enough to easily fit a 4×8 sheet of material. Ram says it has just over 2,000 lbs of payload, and it ‘s rated to tow a 2,000 lbs trailer. It’s a FWD-only van platform that is powered by a U.S.-specific 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that generates 221 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. These new vans will begin deliveries in Q1 of 2027 with a starting price of under $40,000, according to Ram.

Engine manufacturers such as Cummins show their latest engine and emissions technologies. The Cummins X10 engine was shown at the show, as well as the Cummins 48-volt diesel emissions control system.

Most heavy truck and large van manufacturers had a variety of powertrains on display. This includes battery electric and range-extended electric trucks. For example, the Harbinger Motors range-extended electric step-van chassis has some impressive specs. Harbinger says it can do up to 500 miles in range-extended mode and still offer between 9,800 – 13,600 lbs of payload.
