Ford introduces a new 2027 Ford F-550 chassis cab finished with the luxurious Platinum trim. Actually, it applies to all 2027 Ford F-350, F-450, and F-550 chassis cabs. Here is everything we know. Let’s dig in!
Current Ford Super Duty owners can already enjoy the luxurious Platinum and Platinum Plus trucks. Now, these luxurious interior can also be had when you order a chassis cab. If you wanted a Ford F-600 Platinum chassis cab, sorry – these are only available in a two-door regular cab configuration with more simple interior choices.
Many of these chassis cab trucks are used for long distance trailer towing for work or for fun. Some of these trucks are converted into luxurious overland camping rigs. In either case, some of the current customers have asked for nicer interior appointments in these heavy trucks. They spend a lot of time in these trucks, and they want more comfort and more luxurious features.
Ford also announces new 2027 Super Duty Tremor and XL Off-road trim levels and packages. We have a separate story that focuses on these off-road models.
While Ford is announcing these new trim levels, they have not specified any pricing information yet. These 2027 new models should be order-able in May 2026. We expect to know the pricing around this time.
If you have been waiting for new Power Stroke turbo-diesel news or other new powertrain news, we don’t have any news along these lines. We don’t know yet if the powertrain specs and choices are identical for the 2027 Super Duty trucks as they have been for the 2026 models. Personally speaking, I do not anticipate any new powertrain announcements for 2027, but I may be wrong.
