The electric Silverado EV Trail Boss is finally joining the lineup, and we know how much it costs!
Love it or hate it, the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV lineup is expanding as we move into another model year, finally bringing the off-road-focused Trail Boss into the fold. On Wednesday, the automaker announced details for what we can expect when the 2026 Silverado EVs actually hit the roads and trails later this summer.
We’ve been expecting the Trail Boss to enter the lineup for a little while, bringing a 2-inch lift, a beefier all-terrain wheel and tire package and a range of other unique changes to the party. Pricing for the TB starts at $72,095 assuming you stick with the Extended Range battery, which is good for an EPA-rated 410 miles on a charge. Funnily enough, despite having chunkier rubber, it supposedly manages the same sort of range as the more luxury-minded LT trim with the same pack. If you go for the Max pack, which bumps the Trail Boss’ price up to $88,695 (the most expensive 2026 Silverado EV variant), you’ll still get the same 478 miles to a charge as the LT, according to Chevy’s official specs.
With the factory lift, the Chevy Silverado EV Trail Boss’ ground clearance increases to 10 inches, while the front fascia has been shaped to enable a 31.6-degree approach angle. Breakover and departure on this dirt-focused truck stand at 19.2 degrees and 25.1 degrees respectively. With the extended range battery pack, Chevy says you can expect up to 12,500 pounds of towing capability and 2,100 pounds of payload, all while putting down up to 725 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque in “Wide Open Watts” mode.
At the other end of the range, the 2026 Chevy Silverado EV Work Truck is still the baseline, and still offers a Standard battery pack good for 286 miles on a charge. That model starts at $54,895 — $2,200 less than last year — while the WT with the Extended (i.e. middle) battery pack will set you back $68,295 (instead of $69,495) and is good for 424 miles. The Max battery pack is available on the WT as well for $76,295 (down from $77,795 last year), and offers up the Silverado EV’s best estimated range, at 493 miles on a charge.
2026 Chevy Silverado LT models don’t bring anything new to the table other than a significantly lower price floor. That’s because you’re actually able to get the LT with the smaller Standard battery this time around, bringing the entry price to $62,995 this year (instead of $71,795). Granted, that does mean only 283 miles of range, as you’ll still have to shell out $71,195 for the Extended pack to get 410 miles on a charge, or $91,295 for the Max pack to get 478 miles.
You might notice one trim missing from the Silverado EV lineup this time around, and that’s the RST. Chevy decided to drop it, so you’ll effectively have to go for the LT if you want a street-slicker truck, while you’ll have the WT as your quintessential workhorse and the Trail Boss as your adventure machine. Three new colors are coming into the 2026 lineup, too: Magnus Gray Matte Metallic, Polar White Tricoat and White Sands.
2026 Chevy Silverado EV Price Matrix – Trim/Battery Pack Breakdown
Trim | Battery Pack | Range | MSRP (incl. $2,095 dest.) |
---|---|---|---|
WT | Standard | 286 miles | $54,895 |
Extended | 424 miles | $68,295 | |
Max | 493 miles | $76,295 | |
LT | Standard | 283 miles | $62,995 |
Extended | 410 miles | $71,195 | |
Max | 478 miles | $91,295 | |
Trail Boss | Extended | 410 miles | $72,095 |
Max | 478 miles | $88,695 |
All the pricing I mentioned above does not take into account the $7,500, which is still available at time of writing. So long as you aren’t going for one of the higher-end trucks above $80,000 MSRP, you can factor that point-of-sale discount into the price tag (as well as any applicable state incentives), making the prospect of a 2026 Chevy Silverado EV — even the Trail Boss — a bit more feasible.
2026 Chevy Silverado EV models should hit dealerships within the next several weeks, so keep an eye out. We’ll also have more testing coming up with both the Silverado EV and its GMC sibling, the Sierra EV, so stay tuned for that.
