Video: Absolutely Nothing Can Stop the SHERP…It Even Ran Me Over!

We have never attempted this obstacle in the winter, until now...

The SHERP all-terrain 4WD vehicle is a remarkable machine. The one you see here is the N 1200 model, which is a bit bigger and more capable than some older SHERP models. It’s rolling on 70-inch tall tires that are two feet wide. It has a small diesel engine with a total of 85 gallons of fuel. It can operate nonstop for about three days on a single fill-up. It has a Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS) that uses engine exhaust to air up the tires at a flip of a switch inside the cab. It has two feet of ground clearance and it can move on land or on water. What is it like to drive? Let’s dig in!

In this video, I learn how to drive and operate it. It’s actually very easy if you know how to drive a manual transmission. We take it into some of the most difficult terrain at the Tumbleweed Ranch onX Off-Road trail. Generally speaking, we never drive into the onX Off-Road back course in the winter. It’s steep and icy back there. Pretty much every vehicle we have or know of would get stuck there or have a possibility of flipping.

Vas and team want to show the capability of this SHERP, so we attempt the hardest obstacle at our property – Tommy’s Demise. The SHERP makes short work of every obstacle we put it on. I cannot believe it.

We use it to pull out a stuck side-by-side. I test its ground clearance by laying down and letting it drive over me.
