Here it is – the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 prototype truck camouflage continues to come off. Check out this prototype thanks to our friend Coleton, who sent us this image from Durango, CO via Instagram.
The updated grille and headlights come into full view. There is a defined amber front marker/blinker light that is a bit reminiscent of the current F-150 Tremor front end.
We anticipate that the refreshed 2024 F-150 lineup will maintain the current selection of engines and power options (we are NOT talking about the F-150 Lightning EV truck here). This means that the 5.0L coyote V8 and the Ecoboost turbocharged engines should remain. We expect the F-150 Hybrid to continue as well, but Ford may introduce a second hybrid option (or a more efficient hybrid option). This is our educated guess at this point.
2024 F-150 Raptor and Raptor R should continue as well since we have seen prototype images of the updated Raptor trucks as well.
The 2024 F-150 payload and tow ratings should also remain mostly unchanged. The truck is already pushing the limits of what a “half-ton” platform can do or should do.
Finally, we are expecting the 2024 F-150 trucks to receive some of the technologies and features from the 2023 Super Duty. For example, the Heads Up Display (HUD), Smart Hitch backup assist, and more. The updated F-150 trucks may even get a more fancy folding tailgate as well.
We will have to wait a little more to learn all of the official details. We expect the updated F-150 to go on sale by the end of this year or early next year.
