Reports from at least two sources say that Nissan is ready to show the next generation 2021 Nissan Frontier next year (in 2020). Some of these reports came out several months ago, and pointed to September 2020 as a debut and/or start of production.
September of 2020 makes sense as a debut date for the next Nissan Frontier, since Nissan has just completed the debut of the refreshed and updated 2020 Nissan Titan and Titan XD. These full-size trucks will go on sale in early 2020 according to the company. It only makes sense that Nissan’s truck division will now focus on the new Frontier.
The State Fair of Texas truck show in Dallas is held every September. It is a good venue for a new truck reveal.
The existing Frontier truck dates back to the 2005 model year without major changes. It’s time to get this truck new design, power, and features.
A more recent report by Motor1.com suggests that Nissan is planning to make a “strong” design statement with the next Frontier. Naturally, a truck needs to have much more than strong style. It needs to have competitive features and capability to go up against the segment leaders (in this case: Toyota Tacoma and Chevy Colorado).
