What is this Ford Ranger Wildtrak prototype doing running around the mountain road high in the Colorado Rocky Mountains? Could it be that Ford will bring the Wildtrak package to the Ranger lineup when the new 2019 midsize truck goes on sale early next year? We don’t know this for sure, but the moulded plastic front bumper on this prototype suggests against the Wildtrak being sold in the USA. Why? It’s because the United States version of the global Ford Ranger has a distinct steel from bumper, and Ford says the separate steel front bumper is a signature that American truck buyers are looking for. See the front bumper on the orange truck below.

We hope to get our hands on a new 2019 Ranger at the end of this year or at the beginning of 2019. We will have to wait longer for specification announcements and more details.
