2017 Chevy Colorado ZR2 versus the rest

The long-awaited 2017 Chevy Colorado ZR2 is finally here, we have an opportunity to compare the latest off-roader against some of the other trucks that it was benchmarked against during its development. Enter the 2017 Ford Raptor and the 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro.

While the midsize ZR2 does not compete directly against the half-ton Ford Raptor, the Ford is an iconic off-road truck that others are measured against. Comparison is drawn based on the off-road and on-pavement ride comfort, off-road ability, and interior features.

The ZR2 will directly compete against the Tacoma TRD Pro. The Pro version of the Tacoma has been the leader of midsize off-road pickup trucks. Can Chevrolet take the crown away from the Toyota here?  We will not find this out today, but Roman had the opportunity to drive all of these trucks on the beautiful roads of western Colorado and put them all to the 0-60 MPH test.

Where are two versions of the ZR2 being compared here: a truck with the 2.8L turbo-diesel and the one with the 3.6L gasoline V6.

While you may already guess which truck is the quickest, you may be surprised how the ZR2 stacks up against the Tacoma. Check out the video for all the details.
