As the successful Ford E-Series full-size van drives off into the sunset and ceasing production, the Chevy Express and GMC Savana spring for higher sales. There is a large influx of all-new working vans coming to the market, but many fleet customers still prefer the older designs. Chevy Express sold 10,146 units in August and grew 23.5% over the same month of last year. Its cousin, the GMC Savana, is doing event better with 70.5% growth for the month and more than doubling with 102.9% Year-To-Date (YTD).
Ford’s E-Series was in second place in August and still holds a big sales lead for the year. Its replacement – the 2015 Ford Transit – is slowly getting traction with 1,099 units sold in August. Ram ProMaster had a good month as it outsold the Nissan NV. The smaller Nissan NV200 is having a good first full year of production.
