The Winnebago Trend represents one of the first uses of a Ram ProMaster van’s platform for the RV market in the United States. It also ushers in a modern front-wheel drive (FWD) setup for an RV of this size. Sure, there have been other RVs with a FWD setup (the GMC motorhome comes to mind), but there are very few on these shores today.

The Pentastar V6 and turbo-diesel four-cylinder should be well suited for this lightweight platform. It should have class-leading fuel economy and be fairly affordable. The only competing platform should be the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter – which is rear-wheel drive and more expensive.
