Fisker officially unveils the Fisker Alaska EV pickup truck concept. It’s a sharp-looking four-door pickup that appears to be about the same size as a Rivian R1T pickup truck. It has innovative features such as a drop-down midgate that extends the bed length to 7.5 feet and more. Will it ever make it to the United States? The company says it’s coming in Q1 2025 with a starting price of $45,400.

The Alaska pickup shares its platform with the Fisker Ocean, they call it FT31. The Alaska truck uses an extended version of the Ocean (FT31) platform. The concept has a 4.5-foot bed that extends to 7.5 feet using a midgate. When the tailgate is open, the total floor length is 9.2 feet (including folded rear seats).
The company says that this new pickup truck concept satisfied both – everyday fun driving characteristics, and pickup truck usability. Fisker Inc says the Alaska pickup truck will have between 230-340 miles of total driving range. The company did not list 0-60 mph acceleration, payload, towing, or any other specifications.
The company does not currently provide an image gallery for the Alaska pickup truck. I have to use screenshots from their debut video for the purposes of this article.
The current Fisker Ocean SUV is produced in Graz, Austria. If the Fisker Alaska is produced at the same facility, then it will most likely be subject to the 25% “Chicken Tax” for import to the United States. Fisker Inc says that the Alaska pickup truck will be eligible for up to $7,500 of government incentives. This means the company plans to produce the Alaska pickup in North America. We do not yet know which facility will build the Alaska pickup truck.
Fisker was able to produce 1,022 Ocean SUVs in Q2 2023, and most of those were not U.S. customer deliveries. The company’s NYSE “FSR” stock price fell -7.87% to $5.85 on August 4, 2023.
We will update you as soon as we learn more details about the production plans of the Fisker Alaska pickup truck, or any other news related to this.
