The upcoming all-electric Rivian truck and SUV are already getting a lot of buzz, but a RivianOwnersForum wanted to take it to the next level with a rendering of what a Rivian R1T 6×6 off-roader could look like. The images you see here are courtesy of the forum.
The Rivian R1T is currently in prototype and design phase. Rivian officially said that the truck will go into limited production at the end of 2020 and then will ramp up production to greater numbers in 2021.
It’s a platform that uses four electric motors (one for each wheel). It’s offers all-wheel-drive capability. Rivian also makes some wild performance claims: 0-60 MPH in about 3.0 seconds, up to 400+ miles of driving range with the largest 180kWh battery, towing capacity of around 10,000 lbs, and relatively quick charging times.
The starting price for the first production Rivian R1T truck is currently listed at $69,900 (before tax incentives).
What do you think should Rivian expand their truck lineup to a 6×6 model in the future, or should this 6WD rendering remain a concept.
We did a detailed video interview and walkaround of the R1T. You can watch it below to get all the details about the cargo storage ability, racks, interior, and more.
