The Jeep Gladiator Will Head to Europe Next Year

The all-new 2019 Jeep Gladiator will hit the road in North America this year, and a year later it looks like Europeans will also get the chance to buy the new Jeep pickup.

The news has been confirmed by Autocar, who spoke with a Jeep’s European boss, Jeff Hines. “It will land in quarter one or quarter two in 2020,” he said. “It won’t be big volumes, but our customers love the idea of it.”

Jeep is pushing in Europe after total sales increased over 50 percent in 2018 over 2017. The Renegade and Compass are the most popular Jeeps in Europe, due to their small size.

The Gladiator is considered a midsize pickup in North America, though it will probably feel large on some tight European streets.

By the time it reaches Europe, the Gladiator and Wrangler will be available as plug-in hybrid models as well, offering a more economic choice.

Here at TFL we will have our first chance to drive the Gladiator at the end of the month, so stay tuned for our impressions on Jeep’s new entry into the midsize market.
